16 days on the John Muir Trail
Video

S6JSeErhl_A

It has nearly been two years (yes, two years…I know, I know) since I finished the JMT and I just now got around to making a video with all of my footage from the trail. I started an iteration of the video after I finished the hike, but the file became corrupt and I didn’t have the patience to go back in and re-do the entire thing at the time. And I’m glad I didn’t, because I’m way happier with this second version!

Creating this video transported me back to the trail, and again made me so grateful for the experience. For those that may not have read my excessively long story, I started the trail solo, but I met so many great people out there. On the 4th day I met my dear friend Frizzle, and we ended up sticking together for 12 days and finishing together!

It was tough to cram 16 days and 227 miles of backpacking into 10 minutes of video, but somehow I did it.

If you have any questions about hiking John Muir Trail, or questions about any of the spots you see in the video, leave me a comment or drop me a note!

After 8 weeks of a sprained ankle, and 10 days of After 8 weeks of a sprained ankle, and 10 days of COVID, I can finally see the light of normalcy and movement and happiness at the end of the tunnel. I took my lungs and ankle into the alpine today for a little shakeout, and it made me so happy to see the high country in its green summer dress, and the wildflowers beginning their explosion. Mountain summer, I vow not to miss a single moment with you this year. 💚 #coloRADo
Can you inherit a love of wild beautiful places? O Can you inherit a love of wild beautiful places? Of exploration and backcountry roads and long drives and music and solitude? If so, than I truly am my fathers daughter. Thanks Dad, for giving me the best pieces of you. Happy Fathers Day ❤️ #happyfathersday

The babies were moved from our den last month, but Mom and Dad still come by several times a a day. I like to think they come to get a break from the kids. I have always wanted a photo of them together but the opportunity never presented itself until the other day when they unknowing posed perfectly for me 🧡. Someday, some year, I hope to figure out where their other dens are! Fun fact - foxes are monogamous and usually mate for life. These two are in it for the long haul! #FionatheFox #FarleytheFox

I’ve wanted to photograph a silver fox for so long, and I’m hoping desperately to cross paths with him again now that I know he’s out there. What a gorgeous being. 🖤 #silverfox #redfox
